Manufactured Stone Countertops Offer Great Performance in Many Colors

Quartz Countertops for Bathrooms

Quartz is the only engineered stone offered by All Stone. It’s a great, easy-to-maintain choice for kitchen and bathroom countertops. Made by pouring ground quartz mixed with man-made resins into a mold, quartz countertops can be made in an almost limitless number of custom colors and shapes.

Naturally Non-porous, Quartz Countertops Never Need Sealing

While quartz is naturally scratch and heat resistant, it does have a slightly lower temperature threshold than some other stone counter materials. The polymer resins used to bind the quartz chips together may begin to melt if exposed to temperatures over 400°F, damaging the counter surface. Since resins are a main component to make quartz countertops non-porous, they are also what can be damaged by cleaners, heat and chemicals. That is why it is important to protect your counter from any heated items and properly research on any cleaning products before use.

The quartz countertops sold by All Stone are manufactured by Hanstone, Silesone, Caesarstone, Compac, Viatera and Difiniti.

If you’re looking for a brightly colored or unusually shaped countertop, quartz may be the right choice for you. The countertop installers at All Stone have decades of experience helping homeowners pick out the right material for their kitchen, bathroom, basement bar and other countertops. Choose All Stone and you’ll get the perfect countertop for your home.

Keeping Your Quartz Countertop Clean Like New

Generally, keeping your quartz countertop clean and preventing damage requires only low maintenance. Anytime there is a mess or a spill on your counter, you should always take the time to clean it. Any messy food or spills that are allowed to sit can eventually start to stain. Even though quartz counters are highly stain resistant, that doesn’t mean they still can’t get stained. The most common liquids in a kitchen that are extremely recommended to clean up right after a spill to prevent stains are red wine, coffee, tea, tomato sauce, and juice. The staining process occurs as the resins start to react with the liquids.

If you are facing a stained area on your quartz countertop, there are some methods that you can try to help remove the stain. First, we recommend using some adhesive remover to rub away tough stains. Then, spray over the area with a cleaner like Goo Gone and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes. If you are using any other cleaner, make sure it is safe to use on quartz to prevent any further damage. Next, take a wet rag and wipe the area off. Do this step again, but with warm water. Repeat these instructions if needed for a deeper clean and better results.

You can also try using Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol if the stains won’t come out. Just simply take a wet rag with some isopropyl rubbing alcohol and rub the stained area. Then, using a different rag with warm water, wipe the same area again. You may also repeat these steps, if necessary.

Choosing Between Granite or Quartz Kitchen Countertops

Many people spend a lot of time and energy determining whether they prefer quartz or granite countertops for their new kitchen or bathroom. While both countertop materials are very durable and strong, there are a few key differences buyers must take into account before purchasing:

  • Quartz is non-porous and does not require sealing—granite does
  • Quartz has consistent visual patterns, granite has natural imperfections
  • Quartz prices are more predictable
  • Quartz is low maintenance
